Lost all your car keys?

Losing every key is more involved than cutting a spare, but it is usually solvable on site. We need the year, make and model, the VIN and proof of ownership such as registration and ID. With that, many vehicles can have a new key cut and programmed without towing to a dealer. Read more in our guide to car key replacement.

Programming keys and fobs

Most cars built in the last two decades use a transponder chip that must be paired with the vehicle before it will start. We carry programming equipment for many makes and will tell you on the phone whether your model can be done on site. Some newer or European models need dealer-only software; if so, we say so up front. See how key programming works.

Why not try a coat hanger?

Modern doors are full of wiring, airbag sensors and window mechanisms. Slim jims and wire hangers can unhook linkages or scratch glass. A trained locksmith uses tools designed for each door type, which is why we suggest calling before trying it yourself. Our article on opening cars without damage explains more.

What we need when you call

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a key without the original?

For many vehicles, yes. We decode the lock or use the VIN, then cut and program a key on site. We confirm on the phone whether your model is covered.

Do you work on motorcycles or trucks?

We work on many passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks. Ask about your specific vehicle when you call.

Is a locksmith cheaper than the dealer?

Often, and you avoid a tow. We quote before work so you can compare.
